Ledley recognises achievements of college students

25 June 2016|Tottenham Hotspur

Ledley King celebrated the success of students from the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation Education and Football Development Centre programme at Epping Forest College (EFC) on Thursday night (June 23).

Ledley presented more than 30 students from the programme with awards for their dedication and hard work throughout the year.

The Education and Football Development Centre programme is one of the Foundation’s flagship projects, offering Academy-standard football coaching alongside BTEC qualifications at colleges across the Club’s local community to young people aged 16-18.

Opportunities exist for students to study full-time BTEC level 2 or 3 and NVQ level 2 or 3 courses with the potential to continue onto a foundation degree in Sports Development and Coaching run by Tottenham Hotspur Foundation.

The Centres are run in partnership with Epping Forest College, Barnet & Southgate College, St Thomas More Catholic School, Harrow College, Waltham Forest College, Haringey Sixth Form Centre and Turnford School. While the courses are open to both male and female students, there are three female-only specific courses running at Epping College, Barnet & Southgate College and Waltham Forest College.

During the ceremony, Ledley said: “I’d like to congratulate you all on your achievements which you should be very proud of. I’ve met a number of graduates from the course who have gone on to achieve great things – from playing professionally to delivering some innovative sports programmes in the local community. I wish you all the best of luck with the remainder of your studies and look forward to hearing about your progress.”
