Ledley on Euro 2016 - Kyle is 'top class'

Ledley King has lavished praise on his former team-mate Kyle Walker as our flying right-back continues to shine at Euro 2016.
The rapid 26-year-old is now one of our longest-serving players and enjoyed a tremendous 2015-16 season at club level before carrying his fine form onto the international stage with England this summer.
His Man of the Match performance in the Three Lions’ final pre-tournament warm-up game against Portugal at Wembley saw him land a starting spot in the first two of England’s three matches in France thus far – the second of which, against Wales, also saw him named Man of the Match – and legendary former Club captain Ledley, who played alongside Kyle at the back for us during the latter stages of his career, has been mightily impressed by what he’s seen of the ex-Sheffield United man.
“Kyle is full of confidence and that’s important,” said Ledley, who was capped 21 times by the Three Lions. “He was named Man of the Match against Portugal in the final friendly and that has got him the starting place in the tournament.
“He had that chance, he took it and he’s gone from strength to strength. He’s had his best season for the Club and that has carried onto the international scene now.
“You have to remember when he had that unbelievable breakthrough season in 2011-12 (when Kyle was named PFA Young Player of the Year) he was still very young and still had a lot of learning to do. He’s done that.
“He’s always been great going forward and there is no stopping him now. He has the right balance of attacking and being a top-class defender now.”
