Ledley gets in the Melbourne spirit
22 April 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
Ledley King had the true Melbourne experience on Friday.
Our legendary former captain, in Australia promoting this summer’s International Champions Cup (ICC), visited one of Victoria’s most iconic landmarks before sampling Melbourne’s number one sport.
First up, it was an early morning helicopter ride alongside Juventus and Atletico Madrid legends David Trezeguet and Jose Luis Caminero.
The trio flew to the coast and the Twelve Apostles – a collection of spectacular limestone stacks just off shore at Port Campbell National Park on the Great Ocean Road.
Here it was time for some photo opportunities and a bit of beach football as the legends gave Australia a small taste of the upcoming tournament in July.
In the evening, Ledley was back at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) as a guest of Hawthorn FC as they took on Adelaide Crows in the AFL.
Hawthorn, who have won the last three league titles, snatched a dramatic 112-109 victory in the dying minutes to send the MCG faithful into a frenzy.
What better time for Ledley to head down to the winning dressing room and meet Sam Mitchell, one of Hawthorn’s star players and a Spurs fan? Ledley presented a shirt to Sam, who vowed to be back at the MCG for our games against Juventus and Atletico Madrid in July.
