Internationals - Denmark/Cameroon action
03 June 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
Christian Eriksen was in action as Denmark suffered a penalty shootout defeat to Bosnia-Herzegovina in Toyota, Japan, today (Friday, June 3).
The crafty midfielder completed the whole game in a competition known as the Kirin Cup, but saw his nation surrender a two-goal first-half lead to draw 2-2.
That led to a penalty shootout and, although Christian converted his own spot kick, it was Bosnia who triumphed by four penalties to three.
This evening, Clinton Njie was among Cameroon’s substitutes as they secured qualification for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations with a 1-0 victory away to Mauritania.
Elsewhere, young attacking midfielder Marcus Edwards started and played 68 minutes for England Under-18s in their 2-0 away defeat to South Korea. Goalkeeper Alfie Whiteman was an unused substitute for the Young Lions, who will have a second meeting with the same opponents on Sunday.
