Five start for England
22 May 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
All five of our players in England's 26-man pre-Euro 2016 squad started and completed 90 minutes in the 2-1 friendly win against Turkey on Sunday evening.
That matches a Club best in terms of players representing England.
The record was set on April 29, 1987 when Clive Allen, Glenn Hoddle, Steve Hodge, Gary Mabbutt and Chris Waddle all started a European Championship qualifier in Turkey, a 0-0 draw.
We also had five players on the pitch at the same time in a friendly against Uruguay on March 1, 2006 - Paul Robinson and Michael Carrick played the full match, Ledley King and Jermaine Jenas came on at half-time and Jermain Defoe entered the fray as a late substitute in the friendly at Anfield, a 2-1 win.
The previous best was four Spurs starters all the way back in 1921 when Bert Bliss, Jimmy Dimmock, Arthur Grimsdell and Bert Smith lined-up against Scotland.
