10 June 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
The wait was finally over for Hugo Lloris and France - and they were left to celebrate a late, late win against Romania in their Euro 2016 opener on Friday night.
Six years after being awarded the tournament, Hugo proudly led his country out at the Stade de France in the opening fixture - and was then forced into a stunning save within five minutes.
Romania swung in a corner that was met at the far post by Bogdan Stancu but Hugo got across his goal to block on the line.
France took the lead in the second half through Olivier Giroud, Romania levelled from the penalty spot on 65 minutes but Dimitri Payet hit a wonder strike to win it in the last minute.
Les Bleus face Albania next in Marseille on Wednesday (8pm UK).
