Euro 2016 - Hugo and France first to progress
16 June 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
Hugo Lloris led France into the knockout phase of Euro 2016 last night.
Our number one and captain of Les Bleus saw late goals from Antoine Griezmann and Dimitri Payet secure a 2-0 victory against Albania in Marseille.
Hugo was a bystander for most of the match - although Albania struck the post through Ledian Memushaj just after the break - but after racking up 22 efforts at goal, France had to wait for the 90th minute to strike. Payet added the second in the sixth minute of added time.
France top Group A on six points and will now finish either first or second with the group decider against second-placed Switzerland in Lille on Sunday (8pm UK).
A draw will clinch top spot for France and in that case, they will face a third-placed team from Group C, D or E in the last 16. If they finish second, they will take on the runners-up in Group C (Germany, Northern Ireland, Poland, Ukraine) in the last 16.
