Chelsea v Spurs - Mauricio's preview
01 May 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
The title still to fight for, a huge London derby – Mauricio Pochettino knows the players do not lack motivation for what could be a Monday night classic at Chelsea.
Leicester’s draw at Manchester United on Sunday means there is still a glimmer of hope - the Foxes are now eight points ahead and we have three matches remaining at Chelsea, Southampton at the Lane (May 8, 1.30pm) and at Newcastle (May 15, 3pm).
Top four (Manchester United can now only match our 69 points and are 27 goals worse off than us) and third place (one more win would take us out of reach of Manchester City) calculations are also now coming into play after Sunday’s results, but for the time being, focus is on Stamford Bridge.
"We all love these games," stated Mauricio.
“This derby is a big motivation for everyone. There has been a lot said and that’s another big motivation for us to try to win the game.
“We expect a very tough game against them but we are ready and we will see what happens. The players love to compete and our objective is to win the three games.”

Chelsea sit 10th after a tricky defence of their Premier League crown but they have lost only two of their last 10 and everyone knows what they are capable of.
“This season, they haven’t been as consistent as the season before and they are in a position in the middle of the table,” added Mauricio. “But they have very good players, they are a very good team and in one game they can play well.
“Still, our objective is to go there and try to get the three points.
“We have a squad with unbelievable skill to go and play football and compete and it’s important to keep this in the next few seasons.”
