Spurs-themed wedding in Thailand

Tue 08 March 2016, 10:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Thai Spurs fan Aun (Phasakorn Borvornpadungkitti) combined the love of his life with...the love of his life - thanks to a fantastic Spurs-themed wedding last week!

A devoted fan of the Club since 1993 and a member of Spurs Thailand, one of over 140 Official Supporters’ Clubs we have worldwide, Aun and his bride Ae (Kingrak Wongsawat) were serenaded by more than 1,000 guests - many of whom were sporting Club kits - with renditions of ‘Oh When The Spurs’ and ‘Everywhere We Go’ as they were married at Royal Jubilee Ballroom, Muangthongthani, on Saturday, February 27.

“It was beyond our wildest dreams,” beamed Aun, who first watched us play on television as an eight-year-old in October, 1993, when we beat Everton 3-2 at White Hart Lane.

“I've been a member of Spurs Thailand for quite some time now so I know first-hand how Spurs can bring people together for the team we love. This togetherness always entails love and friendship so I thought to myself, our wedding could benefit from this.

“Ae and I had been together for four years before we decided to get married. We have been best friends and we understand each other. Ae wasn't a big fan of football but she had heard of well-known teams including Spurs and, since we've been together, I've taken her to watch most of the televised matches with Spurs Thailand and Spurs Nonthaburi so she has automatically become a Spurs fan without realising it!

"I put everything I love into mine and Ae's special day. I particular loved the fact that so many members of Spurs Thailand came and sang the Club’s songs to welcome us to the ceremony. Everyone had goosebumps hearing the chants and we very much enjoyed the energy they provided.

"We could feel the warmth from all our guests. Everyone enjoyed themselves at our wedding and, for us, Spurs are more than just football club – we're all part of a family.”

Having travelled to North London from Thailand to watch us play on a handful of occasions in the past, Aun says he can’t wait for his first visit to White Hart Lane as a married man.

“I’ve walked around the stadium more than 10 times and I had tears in my eyes the first time I set foot in the area,” he added.
“I'm always happy to be there at the home of the football club I love. I plan to take my wife to White Hart Lane, along with a few Spurs Thailand members, next season. It will most likely be the last season at White Hart Lane as we know it so I am determined to take my wife and Spurs Thailand friends to soak in the atmosphere at this heaven of ours at least once before we move to our new stadium in a few years' time."

All of us at Tottenham Hotspur would like to send our warmest congratulations to Aun and Ae.
