Big name, big game for Spurs Ladies this weekend

Spurs Ladies take on one of the most famous names in ladies football as they return to Women’s Super League action on Sunday.

Doncaster Belles are the visitors to Cheshunt FC in a key WSL 2 match. Kick-off is 2pm.

Spurs have made an impressive start to their first season in the WSL and are unbeaten in three league matches after a narrow loss on the opening day. Doncaster, meanwhile, sit second in WSL 2 going into this weekend.

Spurs suffered only their second defeat of the season in the WSL’s Continental Tyres Cup against Brighton last weekend and manager Karen Hills is determined to get back to winning ways.

“It’s been a great start for us - we always believed we’d be able to compete in WSL 2 and we’ve shown that so far,” said Karen.

“Obviously there is still a long way to go but it’s so far, so good.

“Donny will be a very tough test. They are a very well-organised, established team who have been at the forefront of women’s football for a long time.

“We are looking forward to testing ourselves against another top side and hoping to put in a performance we can be proud of.”
