Spurs fans Jenna and Wendy live the dream in Ladies' glory night at the Lane

Jenna Schillaci had tears of joy in her eyes as she strode back out of the tunnel to collect the FA Women's Premier League South trophy at White Hart Lane.

Spurs Ladies had just beaten West Ham 4-0 to secure the FAWPL title in style in front of over 2,000 fans on the main stage at our famous stadium.

"I used to sit over there," said Spurs Ladies' skipper in an on-pitch interview, pointing to Paxton Road. "Now I've played on the pitch and lifted the league title here. It's a dream come true."

Jenna, 33, has been a rock at the back for the team for years and one of the reasons they have only conceded six goals in 17 league games on their way to securing the title with three matches in hand this season.

"It means everything," Jenna told us back down in the tunnel. "It's a dream come true for all of us. We've worked so hard all season, all the players, all the staff. It's amazing.

"I get goosebumps just thinking about what has just happened. I remember as a little girl I used to sit in the Paxton. Our family had Season Tickets and I used to come with my dad (Carmelo) and younger brother (Gary) and I used to get in early to watch David Ginola in the warm-up!

"To play here would have been enough, but to win the league here is crazy really. It's like a script has been written for us. It means so much."

At the other end, Wendy Martin, 34, has been banging in the goals for Spurs for the last seven years and added another in the 4-0 win against West Ham. Josie Green, Nikita Whinnett and Bianca Baptiste joined her on the scoresheet in win number 16 of 17 in the FAWPL.

"It's unbelievable," she said. "I've waited 30 years for this moment and you dream of it but never imagine it will come true.

"I'm a Spurs fan and I've been here so many times, sat everywhere in the stadium but this was the first time I've been out there on the pitch at White Hart Lane.

"I started watching around 1991, Gazza, Gary Lineker, that era. One of my brothers (twin Dave and Steve) bought me a Spurs kit for my birthday and my mum (Jan) used to drive myself and Dave up to the stadium, we'd go and watch the game, she would stay in her car and then meet us afterwards.

"I lived and breathed Spurs. I loved Teddy Sheringham and Gary Mabbutt was one of my heroes, I used to have posters of him on my wall and now he's presented me a league medal at White Hart Lane!

"To play here, score a goal and win the league, I can't quite believe it. It's the peak of my career. It doesn't get better than this.

Spurs have lost just once all season, to women's football giants Arsenal in the FA Cup. They've already retained the Boux Avenue Cup and with the league title now in the bag, focus will turn to the League Cup and Capital Cup Finals. They also have the small matter of a FAWPL play-off against Northern champions Blackburn for the chance of promotion into Women's Super League 2 at the end of May.

"The players inspire each other every day," added Jenna. "The minute we're together, we work for each other, no-one ever gives up and this season, we've always found a way out of any problems. If you put the work in, you get the rewards and that has certainly been the case this season."

"This team is my second family," said Wendy. "The players are brilliant, the staff, everyone behind the scenes has put so much work in. It's been a long, hard journey to get here but ever year we've got better and better, progressed and here we are, league champions."
