Higher Education Sports Lecturer - Tottenham Hotspur Foundation

For the past three years, the Education Department in Tottenham Hotspur Foundation has delivered a ‘Foundation degree in Applied Sport & Community Development’ in collaboration with Middlesex University. Due to the success of this fast growing department and the validation of a new Foundation degree in Applied Football Coaching and Performance, the Higher Education team are looking for a qualified Sports Academic Lecturer to lead on our coaching and placement modules.

Ideal applicants will have previous experience in teaching and module management in sports coaching and knowledge of sport and exercise science; have a postgraduate degree in an appropriate subject, and be experienced in the supervision of undergraduate student placements. Previous football coaching experience and qualifications are essential.

Reporting Structure
The job holder will report to the Higher Education Senior Development Officer, Tottenham Hotspur Foundation.

Payment
£28 - £31,000 per annum. This is a full-time position, 35 hours a week. Package includes 23 days holiday and other staff benefits.The post will be based at White Hart Lane Stadium, North London.

Duties

1. To plan and deliver both theory and practical coaching sessions, lectures and tutorials relevant to each programme including off-site and/or online where appropriate.
2. To assess student’s achievement of the module learning outcomes for both taught modules including placement and coaching modules.
3. To assist and support students in arranging and organising their placements. This will also involve visiting students whilst on their placements in the local area of North London.
4. Communication with students including one-to-one meetings, telephone and email correspondence.
5. To develop and maintain a culture of commonality across the Foundation with regard to placement processes and procedures.
6. Keep up-to date with current HE placement legislation, policy documents and good practice – e.g. the Health and Safety Executive, professional bodies, Quality Assurance Agency and Middlesex University Quality Assurance – to ensure that all aspects of the placement procedure are fully compliant with all statutory and other requirements. Disseminate information where appropriate.
7. Act as the main point of contact for students, staff and employers, dealing with enquiries, providing support and guidance on student’s placements.
8. Maintain accurate records detailing students and placement providers.
9. Maintain the Moodle portal, including uploading placement guidelines, advertising opportunities and making general updates as required to support students and placement providers seeking information. Ensure that other media such as webpages, displays, presentations are kept up-to-date. 10. Undertake specific course management duties to develop and enhance the delivery of higher education programmes in Sport under the direction of the Higher Education Senior Development Officer. 11. Contribute to the development of the Foundation’s academic and research activities for sport.
12. Any other duties commensurate within the grade.

This position is suited to someone with a range of qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills, including:

- Postgraduate degree in sport or a related subject (eg, health studies, teaching & coaching, sports management)
- Minimum Level 2 FA coach
- Experience in teaching and module management in sports coaching
- Experience in the supervision of undergraduate student placements
- Expert knowledge and experience of coaching football and multi-sports
- A high level of knowledge and experience of player development in football and multi-sports
- Knowledge of sport and exercise science
- Experience in administration
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent word processing skills and ability to learn new programmes and software
- Good interpersonal skills

This is a position of authority and trust - it involves day-to-day management and supervision of individuals carrying out Regulated Activity relating to children and is subject to safer recruitment protocols, including Enhanced DBS check.

The role will include occasional evening and weekend work and will also require travel to other sites.

Sports Coach - Tottenham Hotspur Foundation

Reporting Structure
The job holder will report to relevant Senior Manager within Tottenham Hotspur Foundation (THF).

Payment
This is a casual position with flexible working hours including weekdays, evenings and weekends at a rate of £15 per hour.

Job Outline
This is an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Sports Coach, who will deliver a high quality sporting programme for Tottenham Hotspur Foundation.  You will be key player in quality delivery throughout the Foundation programmes, this includes schools, community centres and community grounds.

Success candidates will be expected to deliver high quality Sport and Physical Activity projects to young people and adults.  Candidates must be flexible with time and will be expected to work irregular hours (e.g. evenings, holidays & weekends) given the nature of the programme.

The Candidate
Candidates must hold a minimum of one Level 2 Sport Coaching Qualification, one must be a sport other than football and have a broad range of sports coaching and experience.

You must have a minimum of 3 years experience of delivering sporting activities within community settings, schools and holiday provisions.

You will have good organisational and time management skills, and have a good knowledge of the Greater North London area.  You will hold a valid First Aid and Safeguarding certificate.

Full UK driving license is desired and access to transport.

Boxing Coach - Tottenham Hotspur Foundation

The job holder will report to the Premier League 4 Sport Project Manager within Tottenham Hotspur Foundation.

Payment
Hours of contract will be on a part time basis with specific hours and remuneration to be confirmed at interview.

Job Outline
This is an exciting new opportunity for Tottenham Hotspur Foundation (THF) to recruit an experienced and credible Boxing coach to lead and deliver some exciting new developments. With confirmation of the Premier League 4 Sport (PL4S) funding for a further three years, the project will be an integral strand of this delivery programme. PL4S is one strand of a significant sports development operation at THF and it is hoped the right candidates will work and contribute to support management and partners to help broaden the opportunities and fulfil potential at THF.

THF are currently in negotiations with the Amateur Boxing Association of England (ABAE), London Amateur Boxing Association and partners to confirm details of the programme, therefore specific hours and remuneration will be discussed at interview, programmes will be expected to commence early September 2013.

This unique opportunity will enable you to drive the PL4S programme forward and ensure high quality of delivery and service at all times.  As boxing can be adapted to meet the needs of different environments, for example box fit/boxercise for women and non-contact for schools, the post holder will be expected to be able to deliver in various community and education sport settings. This will include young people in urban communities and potentially those not in education, employment or training.

Successful candidates will be expected to deliver high quality sport specific coaching to young people and adults of varying abilities. Candidates must be flexible with time and will be expected to work unsociable hours (e.g. evenings & weekends) given the nature of the programme.

The Candidate
Candidates must hold a minimum of ‘ABAE Full Coach’ Coaching Qualification with the appropriate Safeguarding and First Aid certificates, and NGB license where appropriate. Ideally you will have a strong background in playing in your sport either at recreational or elite level.

A minimum of 3 years’ experience of delivering boxing with evidence of delivery in education and community sport settings will be required.

You will have good organisational and time management skills, and have the ability to work on your own initiative. You will demonstrate a passion, enthusiasm and ability to engage young people and adults of all abilities and backgrounds into your provision.

Full UK driving license is desired and access to transport.

With confirmation of the Premier League 4 Sport (PL4S) funding for a further three years, the project will be an integral strand of this delivery programme. PL4S is one strand of a significant sports development operation at THF and it is hoped the right candidates will work and contribute to support management and partners to help broaden the opportunities and fulfil potential at THF.

THF are currently in negotiations with the English Table Tennis Association (ETTA) and partners to confirm details of the programme, therefore specific hours and remuneration will be discussed at interview, programmes will be expected to commence early September 2013.

This unique opportunity will enable you to drive the PL4S programme forward and ensure high quality of delivery and service at all times. A key focus of the role will be to utilise potential growth within identified local secondary schools and to create a weekly competitive grass roots opportunity.

Successful candidates will be expected to deliver high quality sport specific coaching to young people and adults of varying abilities. Candidates must be flexible with time and will be expected to work unsociable hours (e.g. evenings & weekends) given the nature of the programme.

The Candidate
Candidates must hold a minimum of ETTA ‘UKCC Level 2’ Coaching Qualification with the appropriate Safeguarding and First Aid certificates, and NGB license where appropriate. Ideally you will have a strong background in playing in your sport either at recreational or elite level.

A minimum of 3 years’ experience of delivering table tennis with evidence of delivery in education and community sport settings will be required. Understanding and experience of recreational sport activities in an urban non-traditional setting will also be essential.

You will have good organisational and time management skills, and have the ability to work on your own initiative. You will demonstrate a passion, enthusiasm and ability to engage young people and adults of all abilities and backgrounds into your provision.

Full UK driving license is desired and access to transport.

Job Outline
This is an exciting new opportunity for Tottenham Hotspur Foundation (THF) to recruit an experienced and credible Basketball coach to lead and deliver some exciting new developments. With confirmation of the Premier League 4 Sport (PL4S) funding for a further three years, the project will be an integral strand of this delivery programme. PL4S is one strand of a significant sports development operation at THF and it is hoped the right candidates will work and contribute to support management and partners to help broaden the opportunities and fulfil potential at THF.

THF are currently in negotiations with England Basketball and partners to confirm details of the programme, therefore specific hours and remuneration will be discussed at interview, programmes will be expected to commence early September 2013.

This unique opportunity will enable you to drive the PL4S programme forward and ensure high quality of delivery and service at all times. Whilst the primary focus will be on developing an innovative satellite club delivery model, supporting transition between satellite club and community hub club will be a key aspect of the role.

Successful candidates will be expected to deliver high quality sport specific coaching to young people and adults of varying abilities. Candidates must be flexible with time and will be expected to work unsociable hours (e.g. evenings & weekends) given the nature of the programme.

The Candidate
Candidates must hold a minimum of NGB England Basketball Level 2 Coaching Qualification with the appropriate Safeguarding and First Aid certificates, and NGB license where appropriate. Ideally you will have a strong background in playing in your sport either at recreational or elite level.

A minimum of 3 years’ experience of delivering basketball with evidence of delivery in education and community sport settings will be required.

You will have good organisational and time management skills, and have the ability to work on your own initiative. You will demonstrate a passion, enthusiasm and ability to engage young people and adults of all abilities and backgrounds into your provision.

Matchday Sales Assistants, Stadium Stores

Matchday Sales Assistants required for our stadium stores for the 2013/2014 Season.

The successful candidates must be 16+, confident, self-motivated and willing to work as part of a team.

Your main duties would be:

  • Replenishing stock
  • Cleaning and tidying
  • Till operation / cash handling
  • Customer service

These positions require people who have good customer service skills (preferably with experience), are flexible and able to work all First Team home matches, including Sundays, mid-week evenings and Bank Holidays.

Full training will be given.
