Thomas Carroll

Young, skilful midfielder who always looks to get on the ball, Tom made his breakthrough in 2011-12.

The Academy graduate made his full debut in the Europa League play-off, second leg against Hearts in August, 2011 and impressed enough to earn starts in the cauldron at PAOK in Greece and then at Stoke in the Carling Cup third round. We lost on penalties, but Tom slotted home his spot-kick.

In total, he made seven appearances for the first team, including five starts in the Europa League.

Tom made his league debut on loan at Leyton Orient in the second half of the 2010-11 season where he made 14 appearances including high-profile ties against Arsenal in the FA Cup, where the Os took the Gunners to a replay.

He also had an impressive record of 10 goals in 21 appearances in the Premier Academy League, including 16 starts. He also started both FA Youth Cup ties.

In June, 2010, Tom signed his first professional contract at the Club and performed consistently for our Development Squad during the first half of the 2010-11 campaign before earning a loan move to Orient in January for the rest of the season.

Born in Watford, he attended Parmiters School and captained the school side to district and county success.

Thomas represented the Hertfordshire county side and was part of our Under-16 team which won the Legnago tournament in Italy in 2008.
