Skilful midfielder joined us from Crystal Palace in July, 2008 and remains our youngest-ever player.
John enjoyed promotion after a late loan to Swindon Town in 2011-12, when he helped Paolo Di Canio's team make the jump from League Two to League One. He also played once in the NextGen Series.
He played 11 times for Hull City on loan in 201-/2011, scoring twice. And he made an instant impact at KC Stadium, scoring a 30-yard screamer on his debut to help kick off their campaign with a 2-0 home win over Swansea City.
John joined Spurs in July 2008 from Crystal Palace, where he was on a schoolboy registration.
Straight away, he travelled with the First Team for the pre-season training camp in Spain before establishing himself in the Under-18 side at the start of the 2008-09 campaign.
Then, on November 6, 2008, John became our youngest ever First Team player in a competitive match when he came on as a second half substitute during our UEFA Cup group match with Dinamo Zagreb at The Lane.
At the age of 16 years, 295 days, he beat the previous record held by Ally Dick since 1982.
John continued his progression by making further First Team appearance as a late substitute in both legs of our UEFA Cup Round of 32 tie against Shakhtar Donetsk in February 2009. He then made 11 appearances on loan for Brentford in 2009-10.
John made his professional debut for the Eagles when he came on as a second-half substitute against Watford in October 2007.
John went on to make a further two starts as well as two appearances as a substitute for the Championship club.
At Academy level, John scored five goals in 20 appearances for our Under-18s during his first season at White Hart Lane. He also made four appearances for our Reserves.
Born in Lambeth and raised in Camberwell, south London, he attended the London Nautical School and was part of their team which won the South London Cup in Year Seven.
