Powerful, attacking England international full-back joined us from Sheffield United in July, 2009.

After an incredible 2011-12 campaign, Kyle maintained his consistent form in 2012-13, making more appearances than any other player, 50 of 54 in all competitions including 36 starts in the Premier League and 11 of 12 in the Europa League.

Kyle took his tally to five full England caps with an appearance in the World Cup qualifier against San Marino in March, 2013.

Born in Sheffield, Kyle joined us alongside Kyle Naughton from the Blades.

He progressed through the ranks at Bramall Lane before making his debut in an FA Cup tie against Leyton Orient in January 2009.

He made seven appearances for Kevin Blackwell's side all in all during 2008-09, becoming the youngest player ever to represent Sheffield United at Wembley in their play-off final defeat against Burnley in May 2009.

Prior to this, Kyle also featured nine times during a loan spell at League One Northampton Town at the end of 2008.

He was subsequently loaned back to The Blades to gain further first team experience for the 2009-2010 campaign.

He made 28 appearances during the first half of the season before being recalled from his loan on February 2, 2010.

He then made his Spurs first team debut in our 2-0 Premier League victory over Portsmouth in March, 2010 and soon won his first cap for England at Under-21 level having previously represented his country at Under-19 level.

After impressing for our first team during pre-season and establishing himself in the Young Lions setup, Kyle joined then Championship side QPR on a one-month loan in September 2010, which was subsequently extended until January 2011.

He performed regularly at right-back during his 20 appearances for Neil Warnock's table-topping side before it was decided Kyle needed further Premier League experience for the remainder of the 2010-11 campaign.

Aston Villa were the team to capture his services on another loan deal, and it looked to be the right decision from the off as Kyle scored on his debut for them in an FA Cup Third Round win at former club Sheffield United. He went on to make 18 appearances, scoring twice.

His performances secured a place in Stuart Pearce's squad for the European Under-21 Championships in Denmark in June, 2011 and he was a shining light despite England's early exit, starting all three group matches.

Kyle enjoyed a season to remember in 2011-12 - including being voted PFA Young Player of the Year.

Where to start? How about October 2, 2011 - the day that Kyle wrote his name in Spurs folklore by belting home the winner against Arsenal at the Lane.

Full of energy with his regular bursts down the right touchline, Kyle started 37 of our 38 matches in the Premier League and missed just six of 53 in all competitions.

His performances caught the eye of then England boss Fabio Capello, who handed Kyle a first cap against world champions Spain and then a first senior start against Sweden.

Kyle beat Sergio Aguero, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Danny Welbeck, Daniel Sturridge and our own Gareth Bale to the PFA title in April, and was also voted in the PFA's Premier League XI for 2011-12.

He then scored a memorable 35-yard free-kick against Blackburn and his strike against Arsenal picked up Goal of the Season from our Supporters Clubs.

Unfortunately, the campaign ended on a sad note when a broken toe ruled him out of England's Euro 2012 plans.
