Sandro is dreaming of Olympic glory as the Games draw ever closer.
The midfielder has spoken of his pride after being named in Brazil’s Olympic squad last week.
Coach Mano Menezes has named a strong 18 with Sandro joined by the likes of Neymar, Marcelo, Pato, Hulk and Thiago Silva.
The men in the famous yellow shirts are just favourites ahead of Spain to take the Gold Medal for the first time, having won Silver and Bronze twice over the years.
“I feel so proud, so happy,” said Sandro. “Brazil have never won this competition and I know we have a great opportunity this time and to make history in our country.
“We have a fantastic squad with Neymar, Pato, Leandro Damiao, Oscar – every player in the squad is a great player.”
The early matches of the football tournament begin ahead of the Games’ Opening Ceremony and Brazil kick-off against Egypt in Group C on Thursday, July 26.
They then face Belarus on July 29 and finally New Zealand on August 1.
The top two teams from the four groups of four go into the quarter-finals on August 4.
“It would be a dream for me if we can win this tournament,” added Sandro. “If we manage to do it we will be very happy.”
Meanwhile, he had a message for his team-mates. “I’ve had a brilliant summer, but I miss my team, I miss everyone at Tottenham. I don’t miss the weather though!”
