The Club's groundstaff team has been named the IOG Professional Sports Ground Team of the Year at the 2012 IOG Industry Awards.

Grounds Manager, Darren Baldwin, collected the award on behalf of his team at the ceremony in York on Thursday night.

The IOG Awards acknowledge the high standards achieved by volunteer and professional groundscare skills and facilities, from grassroots through to professional stadia level. Now in their fourth year, the awards recognise achievement, innovation, fresh thinking and expertise in the world of groundsmanship.

Darren said: "It's a great achievement and reward for all the hard work and dedication of my entire team.

"It's been a challenging year with the transition from Spurs Lodge to the new Training Centre. It has been a true team effort and I'm delighted for each and every member of my team to collect such a prestigious award.

"For me, if there was any award within the industry that I’d like to win, it’s the Team award as it is an acknowledgement of everyone in the department at the Club."
