Posted 06 November 2012 07:22am
The story of Fabrice Muamba is one of the most amazing tales to emerge this year and his new autobiography is an inspirational read.
Fabrice suffered a cardiac arrest in an FA Cup tie at White Hart Lane in March.
After receiving emergency treatment on the pitch from medical personnel of both teams - and a consultant cardiologist who was at the game as a fan - he was rushed to a coronary care unit at the London Chest Hospital.
Fabrice's heart stopped beating for 78 minutes, but amazingly, he survived.
He made a remarkable recovery that has engrossed and enthralled both the footballing and wider world, but his life story is so much more than these last few months.
Born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, Fabrice was brought up surrounded by the terror of a civil war and moved to London at the age of 11.
His book, 'I'm Still Standing', tells the story of his remarkable life and is out now, published by Trinity Mirror Sport Media - you can purchase here...
