Andre Villas-Boas was delighted after the players delivered the result and a fine performance against NK Maribor in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Jermain Defoe led the way with a hat-trick as we ran out 3-1 winners in Matchday Four of Group J.
The Slovenian champions were on the back foot for most of the game with Gareth Bale in unstoppable form down the left flank.
The only surprise of the night was that we went in level at half-time after the visitors capitalised on a defensive mix-up five minutes before the break.
It was only a minor jolt though as Jermain restored our lead four minutes into the second half and it was one-way traffic again for the remainder of the match.
The win saw us leapfrog over Maribor into second place in Group J, two points behind Lazio, who beat Panathinaikos at home.
"It was fantastic to see the players put in such effort and be so determined to bounce back from the defeat we had at the weekend," said Andre.
"At half-time, we really had nothing to say, we could only pay compliments for what the players were doing.
"Again, we bounced back from adversity and showed great resilence, effort and commitment.
"It was a great performance, the way we kept possession, kept the ball moving and created so many opportunities."
We travel to Rome to face Lazio in Matchday Five on Thursday, November 22 before our final match in Group J against Panathinaikos on Thursday, December 6.
