The first of the 'glory, glory' European nights under the lights at the Lane and a game marked indelibly in the memories of all who witnessed it, both players and fans.
Outclassed in 70 minutes of the first leg in Poland - when they trailed 4-0 before hauling back to 4-2 - Spurs were simply irresistible.
Les Allen hit the bar after only 30 seconds, Danny Blanchflower converted a penalty for 1-0 after nine minutes and by the 20th minute Gornik's lead was wiped out by Cliff Jones.
Welsh wizard Jones destroyed Gornik and bagged a hat-trick in the space of 17 minutes to put Spurs 4-0 up and Bobby Smith put the game beyond doubt by half-time when he headed home the fifth.
Smith repeated the trick in the 72nd minute before late goals from Terry Dyson and John White completed the scoring.
Spurs: Brown, Baker, Henry, Blanchflower, Norman, Mackay, Jones, White, Smith, Allen, Dyson.
