William Gallas says the squad will be determined to put on a show for our Asian fans when we return to Hong Kong for the Barclays Asia Trophy in July.
We confirmed on Thursday our participation in the pre-season tournament staged at Hong Kong’s impressive National Stadium between July 24-27.
We are joined by Manchester City, Sunderland and local team and our Club partners, South China FC.
We’ve enjoyed a successful partnership with multiple Hong Kong champions South China FC since 2009 and played a friendly against them at the National Stadium after winning the Barclays Asia Trophy in China in July, 2009.
"It’s very good that we go to Asia," said William. "Some of our players don’t know that continent, so a trip there will be good for them. I’m sure they will look forward to it, to see how the people live, to see Hong Kong and that it will be a fantastic tournament.
"Even though it’s a pre-season tournament, it’s always good to test yourselves against teams like Manchester City and Sunderland, to be ready for next season. It will also be interesting to play South China, to see their level.
"Tottenham is a big club and I know people in China and across Asia start to know us. We will want to show people how we play, and how good we are."
