An inspirational midfielder and captain, Alan Mullery made 373 competitive appearances for Spurs.

A star as a youngster at Fulham, Mullery joined the club in 1964 following Danny Blanchflower's departure but he was a different type of player to the double-winning skipper, his strengh his desire, hard work and enthusiasm.

An FA Cup winner in 1967, which coincided with a regular run in the England team and the 1970 World Cup, Mullery took over the captaincy from Dave Mackay and led the side to the 1971 League Cup.
