Posted 24 January 2013 07:07am
Jermain Defoe presented special prizes to four students at Northumberland Park Community School who have achieved outstanding attendance records.
Year 11 students Tan Nguyen, Mustafa Mohamed, Mihriban Kinik and Samantha Hewlett were all awarded brand new mountain bikes donated by the Club and presented by the striker during his recent visit.
All four students achieved a 100 per cent attendance record during the previous academic year and were not once late for school.
Through the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, the Club aims to use the appeal of football to inspire educational achievement amongst young people in the local community.
Cecil Cameron, Assistant Headteacher, Northumberland Park School, said: “Tottenham Hotspur supports Northumberland Park Community School in its drive to motivate and raise the attainment of young people by donating bicycles to reward outstanding attendance of students. We value this relationship between our local football team and the school.”
