Posted 14 December 2012 07:07am
Dean Parrett was on hand to reward the latest group of graduates from the Haringey Playing for Success scheme at White Hart Lane.
The 21-year-old midfielder gave out the certificates and prizes to children from various Haringey schools who have taken part in the educational programme at the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation’s state-of-the-art Spurs Learning Zone during the Winter Term.

Playing for Success is run by Haringey’s School Standards and Improvement team, using out-of-hours learning to raise attainment at Key Stage Two & Three in literacy, numeracy and ICT.
Over 25 Haringey schools each year have the opportunity to send pupils to the Tottenham Hotspur's Playing for Success. Pupils attend two-hour sessions each week for a total of ten weeks, during which they are offered a unique educational experience where skills taught in school are enhanced and developed.
Each session is delivered by a trained teacher and assisted by a team of dedicated Learning Mentors, who are recruited locally and represent the balance of ethnic groups within Haringey.
Tutors and mentors are trained to develop and raise self-esteem. As a result, the Spurs Learning Zone provides a positive learning environment.

The following Haringey schools have taken part in Tottenham Hotspur’s Playing for Success scheme this term:
- Lancasterian Primary
- St Mary’s RC Priory Primary
- Welbourne Primary
- St Paul’s RC Primary
- St Paul’s and All Hallows Primary
- Alexandra Park Secondary
- Northumberland Park Community School
