Jonathan Trott is living the sporting dream this summer.

On top of playing his part in England's convincing Ashes victory over Australia, he admits at being 'really excited' by the summer activity at his beloved Spurs.

"I like the look of the new players, Soldado looks sharp," said Jonathan, who batted at number three throughout England's 3-0 victory.

"I think we're looking fantastic going into the new season and we've started well. It's exciting times."

It's exciting times on the cricket front as well as Jonathan takes a short break from Twenty/20 action before the One Day Series against the Aussies - and then the small matter of another Ashes Series starting Down Under in November!

Reflecting on the defence of the Ashes - and his third Ashes win out of three - 'Trotty' added: "We won crucial parts of Test matches and that resulted in us winning games.

"We found ourselves in some tricky situations - either the Australians putting in some good partnerships with the bat or taking wickets - but someone would always get us out of trouble.

"To win things and be a successful team you need to be able to do that. That was certainly the case in this Series and hopefully we’ll do it again in Australia."
