Steffen Freund is looking for Yago Falque to progress again next season. The attacking midfielder made five appearances for the first team, scored six goals in eight games for the Under-21s and then impressed on loan at Almeria in the Spain’s Segunda Division, making 14 appearances and scoring twice as they achieved promotion back to La Liga. His performances were tracked closely back at Spurs. “He played well for Almeria and was involved in a lot of goals,” said Steffen, our Assistant Head Coach.“You could see last season when he trained with the first team and played a few friendlies, he did really well.“He did that again when he came on in the Europa League match at Maribor and helped set-up the goal for Gylfi.“That’s why it’s good to see him back. He has a lot of skill, great technique and I believe as a player he can create opportunities for the team.”
