Shortly after arriving from Serie A giants Roma towards the end of the summer Transfer Window, Erik was thrust into the action when he replaced Andros Townsend in the second half of the North London Derby, before coming on for Mousa Dembele in the closing stages of our 2-0 win over Norwich City last week. And as the former River Plate star continues to acclimatise to his new surroundings, Head Coach Andre is excited by the options Erik provides him with – claiming that he can feasibly utilise the player in several forward positions.“He has played in different positions up front from an early age,” said Andre of the Buenos Aires-born player.“When he left River Plate he was playing behind the striker, the first year at Roma on the left, and then they explored with him and got more results on the right side.”Andre added that Erik’s creativity means he has no dilemma when it comes to slotting him into the side, knowing full well that the 21-year-old is capable of excelling, no matter where he is deployed.“All of this experience that he has in these three positions allowed us to have played him on the right against Arsenal and on the left against Norwich, so we have the solutions,” Andre added. “The player is very, very creative to put somewhere in this team.”
