Reto Ziegler said he is delighted his 'dream' switch to was bought forward from January as he settles into a new environment at Spurs Lodge.
The 18-year-old midfielder was due to arrive in the new year from Grasshopper Zurich, a move that was eventually completed just ahead of the transfer window closure at the end of August and the Swiss under-21 international couldn't be happier over the development.
"I am because in Zurich I might not be playing because I had signed for Tottenham and the coach needed the players that were to stay," explained Reto. "It was better for me to come earlier and it will be great for me to play for Spurs and I am really happy to be here earlier.
"Tottenham is my favourite team, it is really a dream for me to be here, although I know it might be difficult for me because there are some very good players. I will try my best to get the chance to play," he added before offering his first impressions on life at Spurs and describing himself as a player.
"All the organisation on and off the pitch is all different to Switzerland, more professional I would say - and I like it.
"I can play as a defender on the left, but I like to play an offensive game and, in my head, I am not a defender. I don't know what position I will play, but I will do my best whatever."
