While Spurs fans await a first glimpse of new boy Reto Ziegler in action, one of our number has already had a first hand encounter with the Swiss under-21 leftie.
Northern Ireland under-21s travelled to Switzerland in August with Mark Hughes featuring on the right of midfield. After a little while, he clicked on that he was in direct opposition to a future teammate - or at least when he gets back from his loan stint at Northampton.
"I have to say it was a terrible night and there wasn't very much football played," recalled Mark of the meeting. "I was actually playing on the right side of midfield and he was on the left.
"It took me a while, then I thought that must be him as I have seen him before on Eurosport."
So what can we expect when the 18-year-old recruit from Grasshopper Zurich pulls on the shirt?
"He looked to have a nice left foot. In the first half both of us were pretty quiet and in the second he came into the game a little bit more.
"He definitely looks a decent player. I heard Frank Arnesen say he's only 18, but I thought he looked a lot older and is quite tall and looks strong.
"He is definitely more attacking than defensive, I would say, and he gets crosses into the box. Most of the time he couldn't do it though because I was so tight to him!!!"
