The German wing-back was rushed into hospital after our Boxing Day draw against Charlton after his thigh muscle had blown to twice it's size - the medical term for the condition is 'decompartmentalised'.
The first operation released the pressure in the thigh and the second saw the surgeon stitch up the 10-inch incision.
Glenn revealed: "The best news we can have is that the surgeon is very happy with Christian and the operation.
"He was hopefully due to come out of hospital this morning (Thursday).
"He's been stitched up and it's the best-case scenario at the moment.
"It will still be a long time before he can recover but everything has been saved within the muscle and he's already started some rehab with the physios in the hospital.
"He's managed to bend it a little so it's good news at the moment and long may that continue."
Glenn Hoddle reports the 'best-case scenario' after a successful second operation on Christian Ziege's horror thigh injury.
