Ziege targets Rovers return

Posted on 25 April 2003  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Christian Ziege hasn't ruled out a return before the end of the season.

Our German wing-back is back in full training after tweaking his knee as he recovered from the thigh problem he sustained on Boxing Day.

There was a chance the World Cup finalist wouldn't play again after what was an horrific injury but he made a miraculous recovery and only the knee problem has prevented him from returning already.

Christian, back at Spurs Lodge for the last week or so, revealed: "I'm just glad that I've trained for four or five days with Colin Calderwood's group as I try to get my fitness back.

"At the moment I'm just happy to be out there. Maybe if it all goes to plan, perhaps at some stage I might be able to be involved in the last game.

"No-one expected me to play again this season but then a couple of weeks ago I was close to perhaps playing in six or seven games but then the problem with my knee came up.

"The main thing is next season but if everything goes right, perhaps I will have a chance of being involved in that last game."
