Wing-back Christian found himself out of Gerard Houllier's plans at Liverpool at the end of the trophy-laden 2000-01 season.
We moved in this summer and he has responded with a series of excellent displays and four goals in eight Premiership appearances.
Christian, who suffered World Cup heartbreak thanks to England's last-minute draw against Greece on Saturday, reflected: "The start of the season has been a bit of surprise but I always knew I was good enough to play in the Premier League and play a major part in a Premier League club.
"I was lucky Glenn Hoddle took me from Liverpool and gave me a chance at Tottenham so I could prove that.
"So far, eight games, four goals and the most important thing is you can see that we are enjoying the way we are playing on the pitch.
"The only thing that isn't good enough is that we haven't got the right results out of the games.
"But we are playing the right way and we have to keep going."
Christian Ziege has thanked Glenn Hoddle for the chance of reviving his career at Spurs.
