Ziege: Nothing to fear now

Posted on 7 June 2002  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Christian Ziege says England have no reason to fear any team at the World Cup after overcoming Argentina in the supposed toughest match in Group F.

Our German wingback was watching events unfold from his national team camp and said it was a magnificent effort by England to beat one of the tournament favourites.

"They played really well and put in a very big effort," said Christian.

"They can go far in the tournament now. They have beaten one of the best teams in the competition and have no need to fear playing anyone now.

"I think they can do well now, they created chances and defended very well."

Christian does not feel that the huge effort put in against Argentina should have an adverse effect when it comes to taking on Nigeria on Wednesday - or that over confidence will come into play.

"From my point of view they can go into the Nigeria game with a lot of confidence. Nigeria are out and have nothing left to play for, so they might have nothing to lose. But I think England will win the group now and do very well."
