Ziege in German squad

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Christian Ziege has been named in Germany's World Cup squad.

Capped 64 times by his country, the wing-back takes his place in Rudi Voeller's 23-man squad for Japan and South Korea.

However, Christian - a goalscorer in his last international, against USA in March - remains a doubt for Saturday's Premiership finale against Leicester City at Filbert Street.

He underwent minor surgery to remove chipped bone from his ankle last month and has not resumed training yet.

Meanwhile, more than half of the 23 players selected by Voeller are from Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund, Champions League finalists Bayer Leverkusen, or Bayern Munich.

Voeller, who lost Leverkusen defender Jens Nowotny to injury last week and was already missing Mehmet Scholl, has kept faith with the majority of the players who guided Germany to a place in the finals.
