Ziege back at Spurs Lodge

Posted on 9 January 2003  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Christian Ziege began his long road to recovery with a visit to Spurs Lodge today.

The German international was back at our training HQ having started his rehabilitation from the horror injury he suffered on Boxing Day.

Christian was rushed into hospital after our draw against Charlton after his thigh muscle had blown to twice it's size - the medical term for the condition is 'decompartmentalised'.

The first operation released the pressure in the thigh and the second saw the surgeon stitch up the 10-inch incision.

But he has put that horror behind him and returned to Spurs Lodge - on crutches - with a smile on his face.

Boss Glenn Hoddle revealed: "Christian was in today for the first time and it was great news to see him.

"Obviously he still has a long way to go but everything has gone as well as it could have."
