Left-back Zeki started our previous two away fixtures in Group K against Anji Makhachkala and FC Sheriff, but has since endured a spell on the sidelines as a result of a groin injury picked up in the latter game.
But as he continues on the comeback trail, the 21-year-old defender believes we are more than capable of making it a seventh straight win on the continent this season as we bid to extend a run that stretches back to our two-legged play-off against Dinamo Tbilisi in August.
Looking ahead to Thursday’s Tromso test, Zeki admitted: “I know it’s freezing up there at this time of year but we’re very confident now and I hope we can do well.
“We’ve got the quality, we’ve got the players, so it’s up to us to deliver now.”
Having featured in the aforementioned away games, while also appearing off the bench in the home match against Tbilisi, Zeki is determined to add to his tally of European appearances as part of what he hopes will be a successful continental adventure.
“I’d love to help the club go a long way in the Europa League,” he said. “I’d love it if we went all the way because I’ve had a little bit of input.”
