While there were plenty of votes for Jermain Defoe's strike against Arsenal and Pedro Mendes' 'goal' that wasn't at Old Trafford, there really was only going to be one winner.
Head Coach Martin Jol selected it as his best of last term and you agreed - Erik Edman's 40-yarder against Liverpool at Anfield is your goal of the season for 2004-05.
It came in the 12th minute of our 2-2 draw at Anfield in April. Robbie Keane and Andy Reid's attempt at a short corner went wrong, Andy was closed down as he crossed but the ball went to Erik fully 40 yards out. He controlled, set himself and lashed it into the top corner with Jerzy Dudek and the Kop suitably stunned.
Here are you recollections. Glen Mills: "I think the best goal was without a doubt Erik Edman’s strike against Liverpool. As the corner was taken, The ball whipped into the box, headed clear — everyone thinking the danger had passed. The ball then drops to Edman who takes a touch, pushes the ball in front of him and then WHACK! The ball screams into the top corner, Dudek having no chance just stands there and watches! Ace finish!"
James Wood: "Edman. What a ripper. Say no more."
Jamie Smith: "The reason it is my favourite was the fact that it was so far out and you don't expect defenders to even think of shooting from there, let alone scoring in the top corner past the European Champions."
Mathias Bridfelt: "Erik Edman's cannonball opening cracker against Champions League-winners Liverpool at hard fought Anfield Road made the stadium totally silent. A token of strength from Spurs! Maybe not the most important, but surely one of the most astonishing goals in Spurs history. Goal of the season, without a doubt!"
David Mills: "It's got to be Edman's against Liverpool. I was there and when it went in there was a silence for a few seconds before everybody realised it was in and then followed the roar even the Liverpool fans clapped that one. The Kop end saw some wonderful goals last season!"
Krzysztof Runowski: "I was sitting in front of the TV being happy that Spurs started the game against Liverpool brightly. Then the moment came...When the ball was flying goalbound, I was only able to think 'no, it can't be true' and when it finally found the net, I was still sitting with mouth open, unable to make a sound. It was unbelievable."
Steve Grant: "My goal of the season has to be Edman’s 42 yard spanker against Liverpool. Not only did we play some of our best football under Jol, especially in the first half, but Edman’s audacious goal was the best I have ever seen in the flesh. It sent us ballistic, silenced the so called famous Kop roar to a whimper, and ensured one of the most memorable away days I have been to."
Ben Scott: "The very best strike of the season was Erik Edman's effort at Anfield. The sheer quality of the strike, from great distance, makes it stand out. Added to that, whacking it into the net at Liverpool's Kop end gives it that extra something. It was a stunning, goal-bursting, rip-roaring, fantasy goal!"
Darren Mitchell: "Erik Edman's goal at Anfield. Why? Because it made me remember why I started to support Spurs 20 years ago and reminded me of goals like Hoddle's and co and I have not felt like for sometime time now. I can`t wait for August."
Ben Scott is the winner of the signed Michael Carrick programme - well done Ben.
Stunning, screamer, spectacular, awesome, beautiful, sensational - all your words to describe your goal of the season.
