Your chance to support SOS Children

Posted on 4 May 2012  - 16:59

You can support SOS no matter where you are in the world in a number of ways, whether you wish to make a one-off donation, become a regular donor or even join our players in sponsoring a child.

Your chance to support SOS Children

Visit www.soschildrensvillages.org.uk/donate to register your interest in becoming involved with the world’s largest charity for orphaned and abandoned children.

For those in the UK, we are delighted to be able to offer fans the chance to run in this year’s British London 10k on Sunday 8th July to raise funds for SOS Children.

This is one of the most prestigious and sought-after 10k road races and has been a sell-out event each year with over 25,000 participants filling the streets of the capital, including athletes and celebrity runners.

The race will take you through the heart of central London, passing many of the city’s iconic landmarks such as Big Ben, The London Eye, St Paul’s Cathedral, Trafalgar Square and Westminster Abbey.

Starting just days ahead of the 2012 Olympics, the buzz and excitement in London at this time is sure to make the race a special occasion.

SOS Children ask runners for a pledge to raise just £120 to support their work caring for orphaned and abandoned children around the world.

The easiest way to generate this sponsorship is by creating an online fundraising page. SOS are registered with Justgiving and Virgin Money Giving, so you can use either, and we will promote your page to fellow fans to help you raise as much as possible!

To secure your place to run for SOS Children, all you need to do is send an email to lottie@soschildren.org requesting a registration form. Once they have received your completed registration form and payment (£35) you will be automatically entered into the race – but don’t waste time as those 10 places are up for grabs on a first-come-first served basis.

Deadline for entries is Friday 1st June.

Once entered, SOS will send you a running vest to wear during your training, and the race itself, as well as a Challenge Pack to kick-start your fundraising.

What a great opportunity to show your support for our international charity partner and take on an unforgettable challenge in the process!
