WE PUT together the 'Greatest Spurs Moments' series last summer expecting, as always, a huge response - but we didn't expect the variety of moments that we would receive.
In the end, the series was changed to 'Your 100 Greatest Spurs Moments' but we've realised that we will not be able to run every one.
So we've put together a list of the top 100 moments - found below - and will run the top 10, as voted by you, over the next two weeks.
Thanks again for your terrific response...
YOUR 100 GREATEST SPURS MOMENTS: TOP 10
NUMBER FOUR: CHELSEA FINALLY GET THE BLUES
Dateline: January 23, 2001
Venue: White Hart Lane
Match: Worthington Cup semi-final, second leg, Tottenham Hotspur 5 Chelsea 1 (aggregate 6-3)
It was a long time coming - but worth the wait!
Our first victory against Chelsea since 1989 came in emphatic style to book our place in the Worthington Cup Final.
A fine display in the first leg hardly warranted a 2-1 defeat but the aggregate lead was wiped out in a matter of minutes by Steffen Iversen.
Then two crackers to put us ahead - Tim Sherwood's strike froma corner routine and Teddy Sheringham's magnificent volley from Gus Poyet's chest down. Simon Davies added the fourth and one of the great nights ended with Sergei Rebrov's added the fifth.
Here are your memories...
My best moment was definitely the 5-1 win against Chelsea in the Worthington Cup last season. having been 2-1 down from the first leg we needed something special, especially as our recent record against them was poor. Joe Hallows.
For me the highest moment of my lifetime whilst supporting Spurs happened on the night of the 2nd leg of our Worthington Cup semi-final against Chelsea. I've supported Spurs for 7 years and when approaching the game I thought oh no, another hammering by Chelsea - what was I supposed to think, we hadn't beaten them for 12 years and we were 2-1 down on aggregate! However this game brought the biggest surprise of my Spurs supporting days. I've been to some 100 odd games and I have never experienced a night like it. Twenty minutes before kick-off the crowd was chanting loud and really making the players up for it. The Chelsea fans didn't know what had hit them. Within two minutes of kick-off the tie was level and the Spurs faithful were ecstatic. I was already starting to dream and the man sitting next to me was all over the place, the crowd was together as a unit and the team could feelit. It was the biggest high I have experienced as a Spurs fan and one I will never forget. Carl Beard.
I think that my greatest Spurs moment has to be the 5-1 victory over Chelsea! It was even sweeter because my dad is a lifelong Chelsea fan and I have never known us to have beaten Chelsea before. The way we totally outplayed them and made them look like a conference side was amazing and will live with me forever. James Bayliss.
The 5-1 win against Chelsea should be up there. Our first win against them in 12 years and it's that much more special because I was there! Paul Summerville.
I've been supporting Spurs for 17 years, long enough to learn that it IS about glory. So if you're looking for an unlikely result against all odds, even we didn't think it would happen, but a result with arguably the most accomplished performance I can ever remember, it has to be SPURS 5 Chelsea 1, WC Semi-Final last season. We were superior and fantastic in every department that night and made me a very happy man for weeks, at least until the final! Damian Cooke.
My best moment would have to be watching Spurs crush Chelsea 5-1 I have never seen Spurs play with such pasion and so many key players missing. I am 22 and not seen as many key moments as most but that is best with us beating the Gooners 3-1 in the 1991 FA Cup semi-final in very close second. Dean Lennon.
