Our Under-16 squad has travelled to America to compete in the prestigious PUMA Cup in Minnesota.
The lads have ‘Elite' status in the tournament and face Rockford Raptors, TSF Academy and Brooklyn Italians in Group A.
They kick-off against Rockford Raptors this Friday morning (July 17) before facing TSF Academy in the afternoon and then Brooklyn Italians on Saturday.
The top two from each group qualify for Saturday's semi-finals with the final on Sunday.
Group B consists of Shohomish United, Charlotte United, Ontario Erin Mills and Lions FC Red.
"It's one of the biggest youth tournaments in the world," said U16s Manager and Assistant Academy Manager Chris Ramsey.
"We're lucky because we're associated with PUMA and they have advocated for us to go out there - every team needs an invite.
"We're expecting a tough tournament simply because the name Tottenham Hotspur means that teams will want to beat us.
"It will be a great travelling experience for the lads and we're looking at it from a training camp point of view.
"Results are important but it will be just as important for the lads to learn how to play in the heat, how to play against teams from other countries, other styles and of course, playing tournament football."
