Academy stars David Hutton and Takura Mtandari supported an Enfield school’s Children In Need fundraising campaign by taking part in a football coaching session with pupils. The session took place at Oaktree School in Southgate and was coached by staff from the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation.

The two young stars took part in a range of football drills and then fielded questions from pupils in a special assembly.

David, a Republic of Ireland Under-18 international, said: “It was a good experience for me and Takura. It’s important that we support our local schools.”

Takura added: “It was an enjoyable day for everyone, especially me and David, and I hope the school raised lots of money for Children in Need.”

Oaktree School is a mixed day-school for pupils with a range of complex needs, including pupils with some social, emotional and behavioural difficulties linked to their learning.

The school were having a non-uniform day with the theme being ‘Big Hair’. Pupils sprayed their hair with colour or wore big wigs, with all monies collected going towards the BBC Children in Need campaign.

David and Takura also handed out prizes at the assembly for the best hair on show!

The school’s Head Teacher, Diane Rochford, said: “It was a fantastic day, the children really engaged with the players, and it gave everyone the inspiration that they can all be good at something.”
