Young Spurs XI set for Hastings

Posted on 9 August 2002  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Colin Calderwood will take a young squad to Hastings Town for our Spurs XI's latest pre-season friendly on Saturday.

John Jackson, Rohan Ricketts, Steve Ferguson and Shwan Jalal will be the more senior players alongside the likes of Lee Barnard, John Sutton and Dean Marney, who have impressed in pre-season so far.

The lads won their latest friendly this week - a 2-1 victory in a behind-closed-doors affair against Ipswich Town, with Chinese tralist Qu Bo on target - and travel to the Dr Martens League Eastern Division champions for a 3pm kick-off.

"We're looking forward to it," said Colin. "These games can be a tough test and it's all about how the lads apply themselves."
