Kyle Walker represented the Club as Haringey Council revealed the winners of the Young Haringey Heroes awards for 2010.

The England U21 defender attended a ceremony held at Bernie Grant Arts Centre in Tottenham in July to present awards in the Young Volunteer category, sponsored by Tottenham Hotspur.

Other guests included Lynne Featherstone MP, David Lammy MP, and actor Rudolph Walker OBE.

Over 20 young people were honoured in several categories including young carer, young volunteer, outstanding positive contribution, and outstanding progress. Each category was open to both junior (aged 12 and under) and senior (aged 13 to 21) nominees.

Among those recognised was Michael Omojudi, who was runner-up in the Young Volunteer category for his work with the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation.

Cllr Lorna Reith, cabinet member for children and young people said: "These awards are a great way of celebrating the achievements of young people in Haringey.

"We have a wealth of talent across the borough, as well as scores of young people who make a real contribution to their local community."

It was the third time that the Young Haringey Heroes award scheme has run.
