With 'Daws' sidelined, the popular French central defender donned the armband for our home leg against Benfica in the Europa League, for the North London derby against Arsenal and again for Sunday's thrilling Premier League win against Southampton.
Now with 119 games to his name at Spurs in two spells, Younes admitted it meant a lot to him to lead the team out.
"After all these years at Spurs, to be captain is a reward for me and I'm delighted to be given the responsibility," he said.
"We have a great squad of players here and its a privilege to lead them out.
"I've already said we have fantastic fans at every game and I want to thank them. Against Arsenal, they showed real support during the whole match and, even after the game, they clapped us off the pitch.
"I feel we have a good relationship with the supporters. We get on together and understand each other."
