Yom Kippur

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

As many supporters will be aware, our home fixture against Manchester United is scheduled for September 25. This also happens to be Yom Kippur, a significant date in the Jewish calendar.

Every season we make we make a request to the Premier League prior to the fixtures being announced for us to play away from home on this date.

Arsenal also make a similar request and as both clubs cannot play at home on the same day due to policing requirements, the Premier League tries where possible to rotate requests so to be fair to both clubs. Consequently, this season we have been selected to play at home.

Once the Club received the fixtures, we then approached the Premier League again to request that our game with Manchester United be moved to Sunday September 26. At this moment in time, neither the Premier League nor Manchester United can agree to our request due to United’s involvement in the Champions League and a potential fixture later that week.

Once Manchester United’s commitments in the Champions League become clearer, we will again approach both them and the Premier League in an effort to have the game moved. We will keep you informed as and when more information becomes available.
