Yellow shirts in final

Posted on 18 February 2002  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Due to a colour clash, the boys will step out at Cardiff on Sunday wearing yellow for the Worthington Cup final.

Following a decision by the Football League that both our home white and blue away strips and that of Blackburn Rovers were too close in colour, the Club has been advised that, having lost the toss and 'home' advantage, we shall have to play in a different coloured strip. This strip will be yellow with navy contrast and will be worn solely for the Final. The shirt will not go on general sale.

Note of interest: This is not the first time we have played in yellow in a Final - the last time was in 1981/2 when we played QPR and won the replay 1-0, with a Glenn Hoddle penalty...
