Spurs Under-19s 1 Coventry City 0

Yannick Kamanan grabbed the goal as our Under-19s claimed the notable scalp of Coventry on Saturday.

Kamanan latched onto Jon Jonsson’s pass after 70 minutes, rounded the goalkeeper and slotted into an empty net for the only goal of the game.

It was no less than Pat Holland’s team deserved after creating chance after chance against the FA Youth Cup Finalists of the last two seasons.

Kamanan and George Snee both saw opportunities go begging as we impressed in a new 3-5-2 system and it was a similar story after the break before Kamanan finally made our possession count.

“It was a very good performance against a very good team,” said coach Michael Stone. “We started brightly and could have been two or three up early on and it was the same story in the second half.

“We were worried that we might get punished for not converting our chances but we then scored an excellent goal.”

Spurs U19s: Brennan, Saker, Burke, Bowditch, Quilter, Fortune, Partin (Lacy 75), Snee, Kamanan, Jonsson, Consorti. Unused subs: Rutherford, Di Giuliantonio, Adams, Vedeux.
