Tim Sherwood insisted our Spurs XI team 'got everything we wanted out if the game' despite a 3-2 loss at Barnet on Saturday.
The home side raced into a 3-0 lead in the first half with goals from Mark Marshall, Jordan Parkes and Mark Byrne.
The friendly at Underhill marked former Barnet goalkeeper Lee Harrison's Testimonial and Harrison, who started the game, foiled Harry Kane in our best moment of the first half.
Fielding the likes of David Button in goal, Jake Livermore, Andros Townsend and Jonathan Obika, we got ourselves back into the game 10 minutes into the second half when Kane was fouled in the box and stepped up to convert from the penalty spot.
Obika reduced the deficit further after 70 minutes but Harrison's replacement in goal, Dean Brill, kept us at bay after that.
"We played Sunderland in another friendly on Friday, so perhaps the lads were a little tired but this is what pre-season is about, to get fit," said Tehchnical Co-Ordinator Tim.
"We were good in possession again but Barnet were big and strong and gave us a physical test.
"It was a good work out for us and in terms of fitness levels, it looks like we're getting there."
Next up for our Spurs XI is a trip to MK Dons at Stadium:MK on Tuesday night, kick-off 7.30pm.
