Tim Sherwood expressed his delight after our Spurs XI team beat Nottingham Forest 3-2 in a pre-season friendly held in the Algarve on Friday night.
Harry Kane fired us into an early 2-0 lead with contrasting goals in the first of two friendlies as part of the team's training camp.
The first, after five minutes, saw him finish confidently one-on-one before a 25-yard strike to double the lead in the 25th minute.
Forest replied just after the hour but we restored our two-goal advantage when Nathan Byrne hit the byline and cut the ball back for Kudus Oyenuga to finish.
Forest hit a late consolation to make it 3-2 at the Estadio National in Albufeira.
"We played a strong Forest team and we were excellent," reported Tim, our Technical Co-Ordinator, from Albufeira.
"It was a quite magnificent performance against a team that is strongly fancied for promotion from the Championship next season.
"The way we kept the ball, especially in the first half, was excellent.
"Forest came back into it in the second half but we scored again and for a first pre-season friendly, it was very encouraging."
The team will next play Brighton at the same venue on Tuesday night, kick-off 7.30pm local time.
