Our Spurs XI team beat Leyton Orient 5-1 in a training ground friendly using our indoor facility under the Dome at Spurs Lodge on Tuesday.

The teams played a match consisting of four 20-minute quarters on the artificial surface.

Andros Townsend stole the show in the opening half-hour with two goals and an assist.

He opened the scoring inside five minutes, Orient quickly levelled but the winger then combined with Ryan Mason, who found the bottom to restore our lead.

Mirko Ranieri made a decent save down to his right before Townsend struck again for 3-1 on the half-hour.

This time he played a quick short corner to Tom Carroll and took a return pass before curling into the far corner from the edge of the box.

Orient enjoyed their best spell in the third quarter with Oscar Jansson making one fine save and two more gilt-edged chances going begging.

The lads then dominated the final 20 minutes.

Alex Pritchard sent Kudus Oyenuga clear after 66 minutes and the striker unselfishly squared for Harry Kane to tap home for 4-1.

Five minutes later and we completed the scoring as Dean Parrett won possession from the last defender and rolled into the path of Oyenuga to finish from close range.

Pritchard and Kane both went close in the final five minutes as we finished on top.

"First of all it was great to be able to play," said Technical Co-ordinator Tim Sherwood.

"I was pleased with how we played in the first two 20 minutes, the third wasn't so good but we came back strongly in the fourth.

"From that I'd say the lads have to learn to concentrate for the full match. In fairness, we always tend to start well, but it's all about maintaining those levels.

"Overall, it was a good work-out and the lads did well."
